Motorola Is Again Being Sold

Motorola - A Lenovo Company
Google is selling Motorola's mobility business to Chinese multinational technology company Lenovo for $2.9 billion. You may have remember that Google bought Motorola in 2012 for $12.4 billion and since then Motorola has lost approximately $2 billion. Motorola has also cut down its manpower from 20,000 to 3,800.

Lenovo is already a giant maker of personal computer worldwide and smart-phones in China. But this deal shows that Lenovo is gearing up for something big. Now Lenovo want to expand its mobile market too, especially in Unites States.

Lenovo said that they will retain Motorola management team led by Dennis Woodside. Last year Motorola released two new smart-phones Moto X and Moto G under Woodside's surveillance.

Lenovo Purchase Motorola for $2 Billion

Chinese tech company Lenovo will pay $660 million in cash, $750 million in Lenovo ordinary shares. Remaining $1.5 billion will be paid in the form of a three-year promissory note. Last week Lenovo officials said that they would also buy low end servers from IBM for $2.3 billion. So Lenovo is planning to expand its limits both in personal computer and smart-phones market.
